Thank you for taking the time to see what Walter J. Meyer has to offer.
My name is Brent DeRoest, and I am the new principal at Walter J. Meyer Elementary.
I received my undergraduate at Brigham Young University in Idaho in 2008 earning a bachelor of arts in secondary education with an emphasis in social studies. In 2012, I earned my master's degree in educational administration at Grand Canyon University.
It is an honor to be a part of the Tombstone Unified School District. Walter J. Meyer is a great school that offers self-contained classes from kindergarten through 8th grade. With a little over 100 students teachers can offer a personal learning experience with the students, providing the attention necessary for greater academic growth.
We have a great team of highly qualified teachers and staff members who are focused on the success of the students and the resources necessary to provide a great educational opportunity for your children.
Bringing the parents and community together is key to the success of our school. I would like to hold monthly meet and greets with you so that concerns and suggestions can be voiced, and we can make the necessary decisions and contributions for the school. This can also be a time to give you a more personal update on what is being taught in the classroom so that you can offer your time or talent to help the students gain a greater understanding in their learning.
I am excited to work with your students, their teachers, and with you this year. I know that the efforts of the students, staff, and community will be rewarding for all stakeholders involved. Let’s make this year a great one!
